Once it’s determined that root canal treatment is required, the affected area inside the tooth will be cleaned and restored to help prevent the infection from returning. Treatment is usually completed over a period of two to three visits. In some challenging cases or for a second opinion, our patients are referred to a specialist endodontist.

Symptoms of infected nerve tissue include:

• Throbbing and sensitivity to warm/hot
• Tenderness when chewing
• Swelling in the gums surrounding your teeth
